Founded by Julia Plase, Plase Mountain is a Summer Camp located in Maine, that includes sports and games for girls 8 to 16.
Plase Mountain is a campsite on Indian Pond, Maine where girls stay for a course of one week to three weeks, and learn how
to survive in the wilderness.
Many girls are not exposed to the wild that often, but PLase Mountain gives them a chance to see what it's like to be
on their own. They sleep in cabins, and go on hikes and nature walks through the woods with guides and counslers. They are
also taught how to raft, and are taken down the Carry Brook River for an easy and fun rafting trip. After a few days, the
girls are taken to Moxie Falls, a wonderfull waterfall where they can swim and hike, and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Plase
Mountain also teaches sailing, swimming, and horse back riding, for anyone who is willing to give the sports a chance.
Plase mountain does sports and activities daily, but also gives the kids a chance to relax. We offer couses on water
skiing and have campfires almost everynight. The setting is a place that helps the children relax, so they feel like they
can be happy.
We also put on plays and musicals at the theatre in town. You can participate in those, as you make costumes and help
paint and design the set. You can also experience photography lessons with a proffesional photographer, and learn how to cook
with Malinda Baker, a chef at a local resteraunt. Plase Mountain helps kids really get into character, and gives every child
a chance to be the star. Wheather you're performing in a show, or rafting in a boat, Plase is always there for you, like a
Summer Camp shouild be.
